On October 30, 2019, a round table “Cooperation between business and government to achieve the goals of sustainable economic development. The role of the financial sector on the agenda of the SD” has been held. It was organized by PJSC “IC RUSS-INVEST” together with the Center for European Studies of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation with the support of “SGM” Agency.
Welcoming words were addressed to the participants by the First Vice-Rector of the Financial University, O. Kuznetsov and President-General Director of PJSC “IC RUSS-INVEST”, Deputy. Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Network of the UN A.Bychkov.
As part of the round table, the Executive Vice President of the RUIE A. Murychev, Chairman of the Board of the International Bank for Economic Cooperation D.Ivanov were speaking. Representatives of Russian banks (Center-Invest Bank, Rosbank) shared their experience in the field of responsible financing.
The round table discussed the development of the institutional environment and the possibilities of interaction between stakeholders in the sphere of sustainable development. Particular attention was paid to the role of the financial sector in the development of responsible financing and the prospects for taking ESG factors into account when investing in Russia.
A number of speakers suggested organizing awareness-raising events on this topic on the basis of the regional branches of the Financial University, as well as discussing ESG factors in the segment of medium-sized businesses as part of a separate round-table discussion.
In the round table also participated representatives of business associations, consulting companies, experts in the field of green economy.
