First environmental responsibility rating of Oil & Gas Companies in Russia will be presented in december of 2014. The Rating is a joint initiative by CREON Energy and WWF-Russia aimed at facilitating the rational use of hydrocarbon resources, protection of the environment, and conducting the socially responsible business in Russia.

Leading industry experts, ecologists and representatives of Russian oil & gas companies included in the Rating, were invited for discussion at this summer. The meeting was held in heated debates, with certain blocks and points of the draft methodology attracting particular interest of the participants.

The Rating itself and its results will be actively promoted to reach the government bodies that have been showing since recently a growing interest to independent assessment of public administration and the conduct of the Russian business. In general, our goal is not only to make estimates, but to stimulate active discussion of problems and how the situation is changing, first of all with participation of oil and gas companies. The Rating will become a part of a large-scale CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) process involving business community, E&P companies, and financial institutions. Therefore, the Rating will enjoy the attitude and attention it deserves
